Troop 2000 meets every Monday at 7:30 pm at Johns Creek
PresbyterianChurch on Bell Road in Friendship Hall.
Troop 2000 is run for the boys... by the boys. They plan all
meetings and activities with adult leadership guidance. Troop
2000 is committed to the aims of scouting: character development,
citizenship training, and personal fitness, all in a safe
environment for our youth. We have been sponsored by John
Creek Presbyterian Church since 1998 and meet in Friendship Hall
each Monday evening at 7:30 p.m.

Troop 2000 usually has a camping trip scheduled each month of
the year, with trips organized around fun activities such as
hiking, backpacking, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, skiing,
mountain biking, golfing, etc. The Troop also organizes
approximately 12 merit badge clinics per year, participates in
community activities such as Scouting for Food and Christmas Tree
Recycling, and sponsors numerous Eagle projects, improving
organizations in our community such as Autry Mill Nature Center,
schools, and area churches. Our troop is proud of our
cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity; all are welcomed.
Troop 2000 reflects JCPC by focusing on Youth and Service.
Significant Accomplishments of Boy Scout Troop 2000:

Over 50 registered adults serve Troop 2000. The value they
place on the Scouting experience for all boys, not simply their
own, is reflected in many serving well beyond the time their son is
an active Scout. Troop 2000 is in the Milton District http://www.miltonbsa.org/
and is part of the Atlanta Area Council http://www.atlantabsa.org/
More information on Scouting, its aims and purposes, can be

Pack 1000 meets every 2nd Monday of the Month at 7:00 pm at
Shakerag Elementary School.
Johns Creek Presbyterian Church has sponsored Pack 1000 since
1999. Pack 1000 has consistently seen boys come into
the program and move into Boy Scouts over the years, and we
currently have over 60 boys registered as Cub Scouts. Our
scouts and their families attend several camping trips each year
(usually one each in the Fall and Spring) and a special trip during
the Winter. In the past we have gone to the USS Yorktown
aircraft carrier in Charleston SC, explored the National Science
Center's Fort Discovery in Augusta, spent the night at Zoo Atlanta,
and caved at Raccoon Mountain near Chattanooga, TN. Each year
the pack holds a Pinewood Derby, Blue and Gold Banquet, a Rocket
Derby, and participates in the Milton District Cub Scout
Day/Twilight Camp and Scout Expo.
Pack 1000 participates in service projects around the
community. Last summer our Webelos dens (the fourth and fifth
graders) cleaned up around the church baseball field. We
collected and disposed of trash and recyclable materials that we
dropped off at a recycling container at Shakerag Elementary
School. In the Fall, we helped spread mulch on the church
playground and cleaned up after the Pumpkin Patch shut down.
Last year, our Webelos built 36 cedar bluebird houses to replace
old decaying ones and mounted them at the school based on input
from the school staff. Other service projects include the
Hands on Shakerag clean up day at the school, picking up trash on
the sides of McGinnis Ferry Road, and cleaning up along the Suwanee
Creek Greenway trails. We recently helped coordinate and
deliver more than 700 canned and other food items for North Fulton
Community Charities. We have boys who earned the Leave No
Trace Awareness and World Conservation Awards, which teach them
about proper ways to treat our environment so others can continue
to enjoy it.

Pack 808 meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm at
Abbotts Hill Elementary School.
Johns Creek Presbyterian Church has sponsored Cub Scout Pack
808 since 2000. We have 49 registered Scouts and meet at
Abbotts Hill Elementary School. Our Pack is proud of its
ethnically, religiously and culturally diverse heritage. Our
former Webelos II Scouts can be found in several troops in North
Fulton, including Troop 2000, Troop 69, Troop 10, Troop 143 and
Troop 317.
We offer a full program to our Scouts. Our families are
active contributors to Friends of Scouting. Our Scouts are
also active in District and Pack level service projects, including
Scouting for Food, and our Coat and Blanket drive to benefit North
Fulton Charities.
We camp three times a year; once in the fall, once in the spring
and we also participate in the District's Family Camping in
July. Our Big Trip is generally in April and we rotate
through several trips so that our Scouts don't repeat a trip they
have already taken. Past big trips have included Sleeping
with the Sharks in Gatlinburg, Overnight on the USS Yorktown
in Charleston, SC and visits to the Children's Discovery
Museum in Chattanooga and to the Space and Rocket Center in
Huntsville. Our Pinewood Derby is held each January and our
Blue & Gold Banquet each February. Part of our summertime
program includes a Rocket Derby in June at Abbotts Hill and we
invite everyone out to watch our scouts launch the rockets they
have built!
We have many dedicated adults working to support our Pack
programs. Several of these adults also assist at the District
level, volunteering for Cub Scout Day Camp, the ITOLS Training Team
and District Leadership Training. In 2010, we recognized
seven of our Alumni for achieving the rank of Eagle, including 6
scouts from Troop 2000. We are proud of the role we played in
moving these scouts along the trail to Scouting's highest
honor.
