Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry at JCPC provides one-to-one lay Christian care to folks experiencing burdens in their lives.  We are here to help one and all- you don't have to be a member of JCPC to receive Christian care.  Our program is based on the national Stephen Ministry model headquartered in St. Louis, Mo., which has trained almost 500,000 Stephen Ministers since 1975. These ministers have come from 100 Christian denominations representing over 9,000 congregations.

In addition to individual care, the team also administers a New Mothers Visitation program, a Grief Support program, and Stephen Ministers assist in the once monthly Communion Service at Peachtree Christian Hospice.  Stephen Ministry also sponsors a monthly Speakers Forum.

Current Ministers also attend bi-monthly Consultation and Support meetings.  These sessions are designed to enhance skills, to assist in providing the best possible Christian care and to build a close relational team. Continuing education on pertinent topics and spiritual growth for all the team members are also presented on those nights.
